Yesterday, 38-year-old Kate Middleton and Prince William visited the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn. Their visit was timed to coincide with the birthday of the National Health Service of Great Britain (NHS), which was celebrated yesterday.
“Today we celebrate the 72nd birthday of the NHS, the year it was needed more than ever, as it helped in the fight against COVID-19. Today, the Duke and Duchess visited Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn to thank the staff for their relief efforts. Regardless of whether you currently work for the NHS, whether you are former retired employees, volunteers, or key employees, we thank you for the stamina, perseverance, and hope that you showed,” the Kensington Palace official statement said.
During the visit, Prince William and Kate Middleton talked to the hospital staff, who will celebrate their 40th birthday this month, and volunteers as well as former employees (some of the doctors returned to work after retirement specifically to help fight the coronavirus). After that, the Dukes of Cambridge were treated to tea with sandwiches.
