Kanye West posted a photo of the rock of the US presidents with his face

American rapper Kanye West, who yesterday registered as an independent candidate to run in the presidential election, posted on Twitter a photo of the memorial on Mount Rushmore, where his face is next to four other sculptural portraits of US presidents.

In the photo, Kanye West’s sculpted portrait is to the right of the portrait of Abraham Lincoln. The rapper signed the image succinctly – “2020.”

The mount Rushmore memorial is an 18.6-meter-high bas-relief carved in granite with portraits of four American presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The monument was created in 1927-1941 under the direction of sculptor Gutzon Borglum and is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
West stated that he intends to participate in the race for the presidential seat as an independent candidate, because the current head of the country, Donald Trump, is already being nominated from the Republicans. According to tradition, only the candidates of the two leading parties – the Republican and Democratic – have a real chance of being elected President of the United States.

This year, they have already been determined. They are Donald Trump and Joe Biden. However, there are few cases when third-party or non-party candidates won a significant number of votes. At the moment, the last person to do this is businessman Ross Perot, who ran in 1992 and won 19% of the vote. However, Perot did not win any States and therefore did not receive any electoral votes, which elect the President in a two-stage voting system.
