Kamala Harris to lead National Space Council

US Vice President Kamala Harris will head the country’s National Space Council, she said in a statement on Twitter.

“It is a great honor for me to lead our National Space Council,” she said.

The new head of NASA’s space agency, Bill Nelson, welcomed Harris’s appointment.

“The Vice President is the perfect person to lead the federal government’s space policy, which is becoming increasingly complex as many countries are present in space,” Nelson said in an official statement. According to him, “Harris will coordinate our country’s efforts to ensure that the United States continues to lead in space.”
