July 2021 was officially the hottest month on record. Scientists attribute this trend to climate change.

July also completely broke the earth’s surface temperature record for the entire Northern Hemisphere, according to NOAA. Asia also recorded the hottest July on record.

The scientists added that such an unprecedented heat could wreak havoc even in cooler regions. For example, Canada’s Southwest and Pacific Northwest were hit unexpectedly this summer by repeated heat waves that destroyed roads, killing hundreds, and ending up with thousands more in emergency rooms. This phenomenon was recognized as “the most extreme heatwave” since the beginning of the registration of such events.
