Hollywood star Johnny Depp won the EnergaCamerimage Film Festival Prize. The organizers of the largest international festival dedicated to “the art of cinema and its creators” called Depp “the most versatile actor in modern cinema.”
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star reacted in a very original way to this event. A photo of an actor from the Bahamas, in which he poses behind bars, was posted on the official page of the festival on Twitter. In his hands is an award statuette – the Golden Frog, which Depp received with the wording “for unique visual sensitivity.” Due to the pandemic, the actor could not personally take part in the awards ceremony in Poland, so he received the award in the Bahamas. This was the reason for the humorous photo.
And greetings from Johnny Depp from the Bahamas! 🐸🌴☀️

Depp’s film “Minamata” closed the screening of the festival, which has been held for the 28th time. The actor became the producer of the film and played the main role in it. Based on real events, the film tells the story of a war photographer who travels to the Japanese city of Minamata to find out the causes of an environmental disaster and make a sensational photo report. In February of this year, “Minamata” was already presented at the Berlin Film Festival.
Taking the statuette in hand, the actor admitted that he felt “embarrassed and flattered” that during his entire acting career he had to work with great filmmakers and cameramen. He even wrote a letter to the organizers of the festival, in which he expressed his respect: “The relationship between the actor and the cameraman is of key importance. In cinematography, the most important thing is visualization, and the great merit of the cameraman is that he can capture this magical moment of the acting and capture it. “
