John Carlson is third in Washington’s history in defensive goals

In New York (USA), the Nassau Coliseum stadium hosted the NHL regular-season match, in which the New York Islanders hosted the Washington Capitals on their ice. The meeting ended with the victory of the hosts with a score of 8: 4.

The Islanders featured Jordan Eberle (double), Matthew Barzal (hat-trick), Brock Nelson, Casey Sisikas and Josh Bailey. For Washington, John Carlson (double), Daniel Sprong and TJ Oshi scored. For Carlson, the second scored puck in the match became the 114th in the capital’s team.

The American ice hockey player came third in Washington’s history in defensive goals, beating Kalle Johansson (113). The club record among defensive players belongs to Kevin Hatcher (149), while Russian defender Sergei Gonchar (144) is second.
