The US President announced the imminent availability of enough vaccines, speaking at the White House.

President Joe Biden said that enough doses would be delivered to the US domestic market by the end of May to vaccinate every American adult against COVID-19. Biden said this while speaking to reporters at the White House.

The President announced a partnership between two pharmaceutical companies – Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and Merck & Co Inc, which will help J&J manufacture a vaccine against COVID-19. Biden compared this event to the partnership that was observed during the Second World War.

The head of the White House expressed confidence that, with three vaccines available, his administration will achieve the previously set goal of vaccinating 100 million people in the first hundred days of the Biden presidency.

“We are now committed to ensuring that we have enough vaccines for every American adult by the end of May,” said Biden, who last month predicted that this number of doses would be delivered to the country by the end of July.

“This is progress. Important progress. But the supply of vaccines alone is not enough. We need vaccinators: people who will get vaccinated… millions of Americans,”

Biden said.
