Joaquin Phoenix will play Napoleon in the historical film by Ridley Scott

According to the Deadline edition, in the future, Scott will take on a picture of how Napoleon Bonaparte made his way from an ordinary private to the emperor of France. In addition, the film will tell about Napoleon’s relationship with his wife Josephine. The project was named Kitbag, and Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix will play the main role in it.

Recall that in the past, Phoenix also managed to work under Scott, starring in his “Gladiator” (2000). Kitbag’s rental rights are held by 20th Century Studios.

It is reported that Scott plans to move on to the film about Napoleon after the production of his other upcoming film “Gucci” is completed. This is the story of the murder of Maurizio Gucci, head of the Italian fashion house Gucci. Filming for this movie will start in March 2021.
