Germany head coach Joachim Loew will step down at the end of the European Championship, which will be held this summer.
This was reported on the official website of the German Football Union.
The contract of the specialist was calculated before the World Cup – 2022. It is noted that Leo himself asked to shorten the term of the agreement, and the union agreed to meet him.
Loew has led the German national team since 2006.
Under his leadership, the national team took part in six major tournaments and became the world champion in 2014.
Also, the German team became the silver and twice bronze medalist of the European Championship and the bronze medalist of the World Cup. In 2017, the team won the Confederations Cup.
The last major tournament, the 2018 World Cup, failed the German national team. At that time, the current winners of the competition were unable to overcome the group stage. Despite this, Leo continued to work with the team.
