Jessica Simpson recently featured on Katherine Schwarzenegger’s podcast, The Gift of Forgiveness, and recounted how she interacted with the woman who raped her as a child eight years ago.
Recall that Simpson published an autobiographical book, Open Book, in which she told about difficult periods of life and childhood traumas. One of them was the case when Jessica slept with the daughter of a family friend. According to her, the girl began to tickle her, and then began to do “very unpleasant things” and frightened Jessica.
But after many years, Simpson met with her and talked about what happened.
I went up to her and just said, “I know you know what’s going on and I know you were mistreated,” because she was offended by an older guy. He was always there in the house, but he never touched me. But he offended her, and she came to me and did the same to me. I felt guilty about her and allowed this violence. I told her that she should talk to someone and find a way to understand these moments, to forgive everything, and be healed. I told her: “I want you to know: I forgive you. I don’t want to mess with you anymore, but know that I remember what happened then, and I’m not going to deny it. “
