The Japanese government considers the United States and Russia “important players on the world stage” and “continues to closely monitor the actions” of the two states, Japanese Cabinet Secretary-General Katsunobu Kato said during a press conference on Thursday in response to a request to comment on the talks between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden that took place yesterday.

“The United States and Russia are important players on the world stage. We continue to closely monitor the actions of the governments of these two countries,” Kato said.
