The international tennis Federation (ITF) announced on its website that it is finalizing some additional measures to support all parties affected by the coronavirus pandemic, including a Fund to help low-ranked tennis players.
It is noted that the ITF will provide support to players ranked from 501st to 700th, who are not covered by other assistance programs. More detailed information about all support measures will be announced after the ITF Board of Directors meeting scheduled for June 2.
“We are doing everything we can to ensure those talented players who are going the same way as the US receive the necessary support and continue their development in this difficult time. This break has greatly affected professional players and organizations in tennis. The ITF is considering all possible and appropriate options to provide support where all interested parties most need it,” said ITF President David Haggerty.
Last week, the ITF extended the suspension of tournaments due to COVID-19 until July 31.
