The farewell to the actor Jean-Paul Belmondo will take place on September 9 at the Invalides House in Paris, the Parisien newspaper reports with reference to the Elysee Palace.

Belmondo died on September 6 at the age of 88. The actor has acted in dozens of films, including “Le Professionnel,” “À bout de souffle,” “Le Magnifique,” and others.

The artist was born on April 9, 1933, in Neuilly-sur-Seine in the family of the Parisian sculptor Paul Belmondo and the artist Sarah Renaud-Richard. He entered the Higher National Conservatory of Dramatic Art. He played in the paintings of Jean-Luc Godard, Francois Truffaut, Alain Resnais, Gerard Oury, and Georges Lautner. He was twice nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Actor. In 1989, he was awarded the Cesar Award for his role in the film “Itinéraire d’un enfant gâté.” Belmondo was awarded the Honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival (2011) and the Golden Lion Award for his contribution to world cinema (2016).
