Antibodies to COVID-19 can last up to five months, provided that a person has been ill in a mild or moderate form.
For the study, about 30 thousand volunteers were selected and screened at the Mart-Sinai Medical Center. According to researchers, more than 90% of infected organisms have developed antibodies neutralizing the virus.
After that, 121 people from this sample were analyzed and it turned out that the immunity of the corresponding antibodies was developed only for a maximum of five months.
Note that, according to the researchers, the presence of antibodies does not mean that a person is completely protected from coronavirus. Accordingly, it is possible to get infected again.
But those who had been ill in a severe form had a longer immunity.
Earlier, the director of the Gamaleya Science Center said that a patient could remain immune to coronavirus for three to six months.
