ISU rescheduled two short track World Cup events

The International Skating Union (ISU) has decided to postpone two stages of the short track World Cup, according to an ISU release.

The stages in Seoul (December 11-13) and Beijing (December 18-20) were postponed indefinitely. The stage in Beijing was supposed to be a test before the Olympics 2022.

Also, the ISU reported that it was not possible to hold four-speed skating events in Poland (November 13-15), Norway (November 20-22), the United States (December 4-6), and Canada (December 11-13).

The ISU has previously set up a working group to consider holding these stages in the Netherlands in a so-called “bubble” in November and December. However, given the unpredictable epidemiological situation, it has now been decided to instruct the working group to consider the possibility of holding such competitions in early 2021.

It is noted that the ISU will continue to monitor the situation and explore the possibility of holding competitions.
