Israel shelled the territory of Syria with tanks

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fired tanks at a stronghold in Syria. This was reported on Thursday, June 17, by the Israeli state media company “Kan,” citing sources in the Syrian opposition.

According to the interlocutors of “Kan,” on June 17, the IDF fired several dozen shells at the building of the Syrian army stronghold in the Quneitra area in the south of the country. As a result of the attack, no one was injured, but the building itself was destroyed.

According to the sources, representatives of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, which is fighting on the side of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and is recognized as a terrorist organization in Israel, have repeatedly visited the attacked facility in recent months. At the same time, the IDF itself has not yet commented on the information about the shelling.

It is specified that this attack on objects located on the territory of Syria was the first since the new Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett took office.
