Israel and Sudan have agreed to take steps to normalize bilateral relations. This decision was made with the help of the United States. If successful, Sudan will become the third Arab state to normalize relations with Israel in the past two months – the UAE and Bahrain have previously done so.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu and the Prime Minister of Sudan, Abdalla Hamdok.
Earlier, the US announced that Sudan would be removed from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
President Trump told reporters that at least five other states plan to normalize relations with Israel.
