Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that some of Iran’s political factions are afraid that negotiations with the United States will begin.

Tehran can immediately return to fulfilling the nuclear deal provisions if the United States returns to fulfilling its obligations under the agreement. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated this in an interview with the Iran newspaper published on Tuesday.

“If [US President-elect Joseph] Biden wants Washington to fulfill its obligations, then we can immediately return to full implementation of the provisions of the nuclear deal,” he said.

The diplomat added that “some political factions [in Iran] are afraid that negotiations will begin [with the US].” “They are sending the wrong signals to the Americans,” he said.
