According to the WHO, the most confirmed cases of infection were registered in the United States.

The number of confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus in the world exceeded 143.44 million, increasing more than 874 thousand per day. According to data published on Thursday by the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of deaths increased by more than 14 thousand, exceeding 3.05 million.

On April 22, WHO received information about 143,445,675 infected and 3,051,736 dead. The number of infected people increased by 874,381, and the number of deaths – by 14,033.

WHO statistics take into account only officially confirmed information about infected and deceased persons provided by States.

More than 37% of the cases reported to WHO over the past day are in South-East Asia (329,450), followed by Europe (242,407) and North and South America (218,907).

The United States has the most confirmed cases with 31,466,876, followed by India (15,930,965), Brazil (14,043,076), France (5,291,461), Russia (4,736,121), Turkey (4,446,591), the United Kingdom (4,395,707), Italy (3,904,899), Spain (3,446,072), Germany (3,217,710), Argentina (2,743,620) and Poland (2,731,256).
