“The stamp will depict a portrait of Bush painted by artist Michael Dees”, the service said in a statement. The solemn ceremony of its extinguishing is scheduled for June 12 – the birthday of George Bush Sr. In this case, the brand is already available for pre-order.
It does not traditionally have a nominal value, but it can be used to send a first-class postal message weighing one ounce (28 g) across the United States.
As noted by New York Post, the artist Michael Dees is also known for the fact that his portraits were previously used to make stamps dedicated to many famous Americans. In particular, actress Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962), actor James Dean (1931-1955), writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849).
Bush Sr. died on November 30, 2018, at the age of 95.
