Production of a promising coronavirus vaccine in the United States will begin before the end of the summer, CNBC reported, citing a senior administration official.
“When exactly will the production of materials for the vaccine start? Probably in 4-6 weeks. We will actively produce it until the end of the summer,” the administration representative said.
Also, he said, the US expects to produce 300 million doses by the beginning of 2021. This number of treatments is slightly less than the US population.
There are no approved COVID-19 vaccines yet, but the US is already setting up production facilities. It is possible that a promising vaccine will be produced before the end of clinical trials, so as not to lose time in case of regulatory approval.
