The number of detected cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus in the United States over the past day increased by 33.8 thousand, more than 400 people died, according to Johns Hopkins University, which summarizes data from Federal and local authorities, as well as the media and other open sources.

According to the University, there have been 33,826 new cases of COVID-19 and 418 deaths among confirmed patients in the United States in the past 24 hours.

A day earlier, these figures were 34,450 and 378, respectively.

According to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University, doctors have identified more than 6.5 million cases of coronavirus infection and 194,536 deaths in the United States. More than 2.47 million people have recovered from the infection.

Worldwide, according to the University, more than 29 million cases of infection, and more than 928 thousand deaths were detected due to COVID-19, more than 19.8 million people were cured.
