Еру US senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Orrin Hatch have introduced a bill criminalizing doping in international competitions.
The bill named after informant WADA Gregory Rodchenkov establish criminal liability in the United States for doping. It is proposed to introduce fines for doping of $1 million and a prison sentence of ten years.
Persons affected by fraud are invited to pay compensation in the prescribed manner.
It is also planned to protect informants and include them in the U.S. witness protection program. The co-author of the bill does not hide that it is directed against the alleged use of doping by Russia.
“America must hold crooks and corrupt officials accountable wherever we can. We must firmly resist Russia’s use of corruption as an instrument of foreign policy,” said Whitehouse.
Earlier it was reported that WADA specialists arrived in Moscow to work in the Moscow laboratory.
