The document alleges that the head of the White House abused power and obstructed the work of Congress.
Democrats in the US House of Representatives intend to bring two charges against President Donald Trump as part of the impeachment procedure: abuse of authority and obstruction of the investigation, Chairman of the house judiciary Committee Jerrold Nadler told reporters on Tuesday.
“The first article is the abuse of power. It is a violation deserving of impeachment when the President uses the powers of his public office for personal gain” he said.
According to him, this is exactly what Trump did when he “pressed Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 presidential election.” At the same time, Trump, according to Nadler, interfered in the course of the investigation initiated by Democrats in Congress.
“This gives rise to the second article: obstruction of Congress,” the MP said.
