In the United States, more than 58 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected in a day

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States over the past day increased by 58,199, 854 people died, according to Johns Hopkins University, which summarizes data from federal and local authorities, as well as the media and other open sources.

A day earlier, doctors in the United States recorded more than 54 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection and 948 deaths.

The largest daily increase in coronavirus infections in the United States was registered at the beginning of the year and amounted to more than 299 thousand. In January, the country recorded the maximum daily increase in COVID deaths – more than 4.3 thousand deaths. Hopkins University reported such indicators.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in the United States, more than 32.2 million infected people have been identified, and more than 575 thousand patients with COVID-19 have died.
