In the United States, more than 28 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected in a day

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States over the past day increased by 28,341, 684 people died, according to Johns Hopkins University, which summarizes data from federal and local authorities, as well as the media and other open sources.

A day earlier, US doctors recorded 30,141 cases of COVID-19 and 665 deaths.

The largest daily increase in coronavirus infections in the United States – about 300 thousand-was registered at the beginning of the year. In January, the country also recorded the maximum daily increase in COVID deaths – more than 4.3 thousand deaths. Such indicators were reported by Hopkins University. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in the United States, more than 33 million infected people have been identified, and more than 589 thousand patients with COVID-19 have died.
