In the United States, about 80 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected per day

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States over the past day increased by 79,991, 935 people died, according to Johns Hopkins University, which summarizes data from federal and local authorities, as well as the media and other open sources.

A day earlier, doctors in the United States recorded more than 74 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection and stated 887 deaths.

The largest daily increase in coronavirus infections in the United States was registered at the beginning of the year and amounted to more than 299 thousand. In January, the country recorded the maximum daily increase in deaths from COVID-19 – more than 4.3 thousand deaths. Hopkins University reported such indicators.

In total, since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, more than 31.5 million people have been infected, and more than 566 thousand people have died.
