In the United States, a light-engine plane urgently landed on motorway

A small plane made an emergency landing on the Interstate 5 interstate highway near Del Mar in San Diego County in the western United States. As a result, two people in the cars were injured, the local edition of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports, citing a representative of the California traffic Police and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

As noted, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. The Piper PA-32 light single-engine aircraft had mechanical problems, so the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing. The pilot and the passenger of the plane were not injured, but two people in the cars that the plane collided with received minor injuries, particularly cuts from glass fragments. The victims were taken to hospitals for medical care.

After the plane landed, a traffic jam formed on the highway. The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident.

According to the publication, this is at least the fourth case in the last three years when pilots make emergency landings on the highways of San Diego County.
