In Portland, 11 people were arrested for resisting police

Police in the US city of Portland, where unrest has been raging for several months, reported the arrest of 11 people for resisting law enforcement, police said in a statement.

According to the statement of the guards, a group of people began a March to the building of the Federal institution, where a protest demonstration was launched. Law enforcement officers dispersed the crowd, after which the protesters were called to disperse, the meeting was declared illegal.

“The Portland police became aware that individuals in the crowd engaged in criminal activities, including throwing various objects at police. Portland police officers made 11 arrests,” police said.

According to media reports, the riots on Saturday night occurred after a multi-day pause caused mainly by forest fires.

Protests in Portland and several other cities in the United States began after the death of an African-American George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of police officers.
