In New York arrested a man who planned a terrorist attack on Times Square

22-year-old New Yorker Ashikul Alam was arrested on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack on Times Square, reports The Guardian.

According to the publication with reference to the Federal police, the man is accused of illegal possession of weapons in order to implement his monstrous plan.

It is noted that he stated that he appreciates Osama bin Laden and said that he also plans to kill the police.

Alam was arrested after acquiring two Glock 19 semi-automatic pistols.

During meetings with a Federal undercover agent, Alam expressed his approval of September 11, 2011, terrorist attack in New York, and discussed the possibility of using a suicide vest during his attack.

The man is charged with planning a terrorist attack. He’ll stand trial in Brooklyn.

Times Square is in the heart of Manhattan. Every year it is visited by millions of people.
