In New Jersey, the number of COVID-19 infections increased by one and a half times in a day

US President Donald Trump declared a state of emergency in New Jersey, where the number of cases of coronavirus has sharply increased, the White House said.

The emergency mode allows states to receive funds already allocated by Congress from the Federal government. In addition, Trump can remove from the state its share in paying for the involvement of the National Guard, which has a dual subordination — to the state and the Federal government.

The number of cases of coronavirus in the US state of New Jersey has increased more than one and a half times in a day, said at a press conference on local TV channels, the Governor of the state Phil Murphy.

According to him, 6876 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the state. The number of deceased patients with coronavirus was 81, which is about a third more than the day before.
