In Louisiana, the second victim of Hurricane Ida was reported

Another person became a victim of the hurricane Ida that hit the U.S. state of Louisiana – he drowned.

“The Louisiana Department of Health regretfully confirms the death of a man who drowned after trying to drive his vehicle through streams of water,” the department said in a statement.

At the moment, they are trying to establish the identity of the deceased.

“The coroner believes that this death occurred in connection with the storm. Thus, the current number of deaths due to Hurricane Ida increased to two,” the department notes.

According to the NHC, Ida became a tropical depression over the territory of Mississippi.

Earlier, the local sheriff’s office reported the first victim of Ida, who was crushed by a fallen tree.

The U.S. National Hurricane Tracking Center (NHC) earlier reported that Hurricane Ida, which hit the southeastern coast of the United States, weakened to a tropical storm.
