In London sentenced Julian Assange

A court in London sentenced Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to 50 weeks in prison for violating the terms of bail.

“You did not surrender to the police on your own, the Embassy of Ecuador was forced to provide police access to the building,” — Judge Deborah Taylor stated. According to her, Assange’s breach of bail is even beyond the most serious charges against him.

At the same time, the founder of WikiLeaks is given the opportunity to reduce the term by half if he serves half the term without offenses.

WikiLeaks after the verdict expressed doubts in a fair trial about his extradition to the United States. “Julian Assange’s sentence is as shocking as it is punitive. We have great concerns about whether he will be able to get a fair extradition hearing in the UK.”
