In Iowa, a freight train derailed due to the collapse of the bridge

A freight train carrying flammable substances derailed on Sunday near the city of Sibley (Iowa) due to the collapse of a bridge. According to the KTIV TV channel, a fire started shortly after the accident.

Several fire crews arrived at the scene, as well as specialists working with dangerous chemicals, and an evacuation was announced within a radius of 8 km. According to the TV channel, the train was carrying fertilizers and ammonium nitrate, which, in addition to agricultural purposes, is used for the manufacture of explosives. Information about possible victims has not yet been provided.
