A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck Tuesday evening in the Boise, Idaho area, but it was felt by residents of three States.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 117 kilometers northeast of Meridian-a city on the outskirts of Boise.
This is the most powerful earthquake in Idaho since 1983 when two people were killed in a 6.9-magnitude quake near Bora Peak. Property damage was estimated in the millions of dollars.
