The reason for this action is unknown. Presumably, this is due to the protests that have engulfed dozens of US cities and are accompanied by riots, vandalism, and attacks on the police. It all started after the death in Minneapolis (Minnesota) of a black security guard, George Floyd, who died after a rough arrest.
This is not the first case of vandalism against the star of the 45th US President. So, in July 2018, an unknown man came to the Walk of Fame with a guitar case, pulled out a pickaxe, and smashed the monument to crumbs. Then the attacker independently called the police and left. Later it became known that the man surrendered to the guards. A few days later, a guard of two soldiers in the Soviet army uniform appeared near Trump’s star. The actors were wearing ear-flaps and pea-jackets, despite the hot sun. One of them was holding a Russian flag.
A memorial sign with the name of Trump was installed near the Dolby cinema in 2007. He was awarded for his work as a presenter on his TV show, The Apprentice.
