The German authorities are in constant contact with their American counterparts on the issue of the “Nord stream-2” project, said Ulrike Demmer, deputy official representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers.
“We are, of course, in constant contact with our partners – in this case, with the United States, but also with others. Often it is a confidential exchange of opinions. Sometimes we can’t publicly voice what we have to say, especially when it comes to political contacts where there are differences of opinion,”she said at a briefing on Friday.
In this regard, she did not respond to clarifying questions about the content of these negotiations. In particular, to questions about the fact that, according to media reports, Germany offers the United States investments in the infrastructure of the liquefied gas industry in exchange for Washington’s concessions on the gas pipeline.
