The red level of weather danger due to heavy rains and floods declared in the departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes in southeastern France, according to the country’s meteorological service.
Three other departments, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Vaucluse, and Drome, declared an orange danger level.
The Ministry of internal Affairs notes that floods are expected on Sunday from 15.00, and urges residents to follow safety instructions, in particular, to stay at home, do not use cars, and stock up on drinking water.
Previously, the red level of weather danger was declared in the Southeast of France last week. Then because of floods, four people were lost. Many roads and highways were inaccessible to motorists; trains were suspended on the Cote d’Azur.
