France will no longer comply with the political demands of Washington, said the Minister of economy and Finance of the Republic Bruno Le Mayor. In fact the criticism is aimed at the American President Donald Trump, not at the United States, told Nation News political analyst Stanislav Byshok.
He recalled that, according to the French politician, European countries understand that Washington has become a “difficult partner”.
“However, this criticism is directed only at the head of the American state — Donald Trump. As soon as the US President is replaced, this rhetoric will go away. And in Washington, these statements will not be offended — the US elite understand that this is an attack on trump, whom they do not like”, the analyst explained.
Byshok note that the statements of the French Minister is not sharply anti-American, if only because each country has sovereignty to conduct policy.
“Anti-American sentiments have been present in Paris to some extent since 1945, but this is only rhetoric,” he said.
In particular, France is a member of the North Atlantic Alliance and participated in the attacks in Syria with the United Kingdom and the United States.
“In addition, today Paris is not able to determine independently the world agenda. This is possible only with the participation of Berlin”, — added the analyst.
