According to experts ‘ forecasts, the water level has become critical.

Prolonged downpours have not subsided for almost a month. More than 2 million Chinese residents are forced to leave their homes. Thousands of people were left without electricity. The infrastructure of localities was severely damaged. More than 140 people have already become victims of natural disasters. Some are missing. The authorities estimated the economic damage at $ 12 billion.

On Friday morning in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in China, the second flood of this year occurred as a result of torrential rains that lasted several days.

Rising water levels caused the flood in the mainstream of the Yangtze river in its upper course, as well as a rapid increase in the inflow of water to the Sanxia reservoir /Three gorges/ on this river.
On Friday, at 10:00, the reservoir received water at a speed of up to 50 thousand cubic meters per second. It is expected that this figure will reach 55 thousand cubic meters per second today at 20:00.
According to the forecasts of experts from the Committee on the use of water re

sources of the Yangtze River, another heavy rain is expected in the Yangtze river basin in the coming days.
