In China, 13 workers were killed when a tunnel under construction was flooded

At least 13 workers were killed as a result of flooding of a tunnel under construction in Guangdong Province in southern China, the Global Times reports.

The tunnel, which is part of the expressway in Zhuhai City, was flooded almost a week ago. 14 workers remained blocked in the construction.

On Tuesday, rescuers found the bodies of three people and on Wednesday another ten. One construction worker remains missing.

Construction of the tunnel began in 2019 and should be completed by the end of the year.
