In Chicago, quarantine is introduced in connection with a surge in coronavirus infection

The mayor asks residents to stay at home, do not receive guests and do not travel.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot recommended that residents do not leave their homes due to the sharp increase in the number of cases of Covid-19 infection. The recommendation comes into force on November 16.

“I ask all Chicago residents to leave their homes only for good reasons, including work and school,” Lightfoot said.

According to the Harvard Institute for global health, Cook County, which includes Chicago, has 91.6 new cases per 100,000 people every day.

If the rate is higher than 25 cases per 100,000, areas are considered a “red zone”, which indicates the highest level of risk.

Residents of Chicago are also advised not to accept guests at home, cancel thanksgiving feasts and refuse to travel.
