An unknown person robbed American actress Maggie Gyllenhaal and stole items worth over 16 thousand US dollars, the New York Daily News reported, citing local police sources.
The robbery took place in Brooklyn, New York when Gyllenhaal and her husband Peter Sarsgaard were away. According to sources, the 42-year-old actress, upon returning from Vermont on Tuesday, discovered that her car was robbed. Presumably, the acting couple could forget to lock the car or leave the door open, after which someone made his way inside and stole Gyllenhaal’s personal belongings.
Law enforcement officers found out that the thief stole an Apple MacBook Pro laptop, a suitcase, and the actress’s clothes left in the car from the car. Her husband announced the theft to the police.
Gyllenhaal gained fame in 2001, thanks to the leading role in the film “Secretary.” Throughout her career, she starred in various films – Adaptation, World Trade Center, The Dark Knight, and others. In 2010, the actress was nominated for an Oscar in the category “Best Supporting Actress” for the film “Crazy Heart.” In 2015, Gyllenhaal was awarded the Golden Globe Award in the nomination “Best Actress of a Mini-Series or Film on TV” for her main role in the series “The Honourable Woman.”
