In Britain, 125 migrants who swam the English Channel were detained

British law enforcement officers detained 125 migrants in the English Channel who were trying to cross the country’s border and get inside illegally, media reports say.

The migrants moved on nine boats, the Evening Standard reported, citing the British interior Ministry.

The first of them was detained on Saturday night. The rest were held on arrival during the day. Where precisely the immigrants came from, and their origin is not reported.

French authorities also intercepted 18 people planning to cross the Strait and returned them to France.
