A teenager has died in a shark attack off the coast of Australia, according to New South Wales state police.
“Witnesses told police that a shark attacked the teen while he was surfing … at Wooley beach, near Graftan,” according to a police press release.
The injured teenager was taken to the shore, he was given first aid, but he died on the spot.
Authorities have closed nearby beaches.
Last Saturday, a man was killed in a shark attack off the coast of Australia’s Fraser Island. In June, a three-meter shark attacked a surfer off the coast of Kingscliff in the Australian state of New South Wales. The man died from injuries.
