In Africa, 10 young football players were killed on the spot from a lightning strike

Ten young football players were killed by lightning in Uganda. LADBible reports this with reference to a police representative.

The storm caught the children on the football field on August 27. They took shelter in a nearby thatched house, but it was struck by lightning. Nine players died on the spot, and another died on the way to the hospital. The players were between 10 and 16 years old.

The local police called the incident “a deplorable and sad incident.” The head of the Ministry of emergencies of Ecweru Musa said that the guilty in the experience are engineers who had to put on the roof of the building lightning rods.

On July 28, it was reported that two Mexican soccer players were killed by lightning during a women’s soccer League match. One of the victims was a minor.
