Hunter Biden denies wrongdoing while working in Ukraine

Hunter Biden, the son of former Deputy Prime Minister Joe Biden, told ABC News that he did not commit anything illegal while working abroad. He does not regret working on the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian company Burisma but admits that he could not take a position on the Board if he did not bear the name of his father.

“I have given some very immoral people a lever by which they can in illegal ways try to harm my father. That’s where I made the mistake. And I take full responsibility for it. Did I do something wrong? No, and by no means,” Mr. Biden said. He added that he has as much knowledge and competence as the other members of the Board.

The investigation into hunter Biden’s activities in Ukraine was the subject of a phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. Democrats accused the head of the White House of trying to get dirt on the son of Mr. Biden and use the information in the election race and announced the beginning of impeachment proceedings.

Mr. Trump has accused the former US Vice President and his potential rival in future presidential elections, Joe Biden, of corruption and close cooperation with China. According to US President, hunter Biden received $100 thousand a month from the Ukrainian gas company and also received $1.5 billion from China, without having experience in the energy sector.

On October 13, it was announced that Hunter Biden is stepping down as the Board of a Chinese-backed investment Fund. He also promised to give up any work in foreign companies if his father is elected President in the 2020 election.
