Humanoid robot patient will teach future doctors to diagnose

The new humanoid robot will work as a patient for medical students: the students will diagnose the symptoms of the simulator.

The new humanoid robot plays the role of a patient at a doctor’s appointment. This is how students learn to prescribe examinations and treatment and make the correct diagnosis.

Message from the Promobot company

The robot will work like a patient at a doctor’s appointment: medical students must see the patient, listen to complaints, conduct an examination, and then prescribe tests and make a diagnosis.

The role of patients is also played by special actors or university staff, but there are drawbacks: the actor can incorrectly “play” the symptoms, and the teacher will have to either continuously observe the process or review the videos.

They also noted that the robot in the exam mode is able to accurately reproduce the patient’s behavior at the reception, to assess the correctness of the studies, treatment and diagnosis prescribed by the student.

The robot stimulates diseases in 8 areas, including cardiology and oncology.
