Huawei smartphones will receive a proprietary HarmonyOS system in June

It was rumored that Huawei will start installing HarmonyOS on its smartphones soon. The company has now officially confirmed this.

The information was told by the head of the development department of Huawei Wang Chenglu. According to him, everyone will be able to get access to the test firmware at the beginning of next month. First, the proprietary OS will be available to owners of Huawei Mate X2, Huawei Mate 40, Huawei Mate 30 and Huawei P40. Then other models will join this list.

Recall that Huawei launched HarmonyOS testing at the end of last year. The mobile assembly of the system supports Android applications and outwardly resembles the Google operating system with the EMUI shell. Basically, all OS changes so far concern the kernel and the internal part of the system.

By the way, if everything goes according to plan, then in 2021 HarmonyOS will be installed on 300-400 million Huawei devices. This number will include not only smartphones, but also TVs, watches, smart displays and other smart gadgets from the Chinese manufacturer.
