Huawei and Leica end cooperation

Huawei and Leica have been collaborating for several years, producing good flagships with great photo capabilities. As a result, their cameras have repeatedly ranked # 1 on DxOMark rankings. By the way, the first gadget created together was the 2016 Huawei P9. But now it looks like the Huawei-Leica collaboration is ending.

Insider @ RODENT950, who is known for leaks about Chinese innovations, revealed that the companies are diverging and the Huawei P50 series will be the last joint project. Moreover, the partnership between the two companies fell from Leica software and hardware to simple branding. Therefore, most likely, you should not wait for any new Leica technologies. And all we get is the slogan “Co-development with Leica”.

This is probably due to the US sanctions, due to which Huawei’s mobile phone business is already on the brink of survival. It has also been hit hard by the ongoing chip shortage.

Rumor has it that now Leica is looking for a new partner, and companies such as Xiaomi, Honor, and Sharp could take Huawei’s place.
